The national highway A5 Kaunas - Marijampolė - Suwałki (Via Baltica) belongs to the European transport corridor connecting Tallinn, Riga, Kaunas, Warsaw and is the most important Lithuanian transport road in the North-South direction, assigned to the main trans-European road network (TEN-T). The A5 Via Baltica motorway is one of the busiest international traffic roads and at the same time one of the main transport roads in Lithuania. Most of the truck traffic is concentrated on the A Via Baltica highways.
